Course Contents:

The goal of this course is to show how your computer does what you command. The topics covered in this course include instruction set design, control/datapath of processor core, memory hierarchy and storage system. We will also have brief discussion on advanced topics such as multiprocessor and low power processor design.

  • 30% Homework (Textbook exercise, MIPS assembly programming, simulator developments)
  • 65% Exams (30% for Midterm and 35% for FinalExam)
